Corsair T2 Road Warrior review: a great option for design and comfort

When we talk about the gaming PC sector, we usually just think about components, peripherals and monitors. This is a good but incomplete approach. Chairs have become really important elements, especially for those of us who spend several hours in front of the PC. Thanks to the biggest manufacturers, we can now find very interesting models like the Corsair T2 Road Warrior.

The Corsair T2 Road Warrior is an updated version of the Corsair T1 Race. Both chairs are defined as high-end gaming chairs, which is clearly seen given their price, design, finish and build quality.

Thanks to Corsair Spain, we had the opportunity to test the Corsair T2 Road Warrior for almost 5 months. Today is the day to publish our review. The reason for waiting so long to publish the review is very simple: a high-end gaming chair like this one represents a huge investment. It is not something that we can review in just a couple of weeks because we would not really know how durable the chair is, how it would wear and what the user experience is like under different weather conditions.

We know spending some time with the chair was the best way to give you a really accurate and good review, so we hope you like it and find it useful. Without any further ado, let’s get on with it.

Preview and installation

The Corsair T2 Road Warrior comes in a simple red cardboard box with each part perfectly packed in a specific way so they can be protected against any damage during transport. An install guide in several languages (Spanish as well, of course) as well as all the pieces and tools needed to build the chair are found in the box, meaning that we will not need anything other than what is in the box.

Installing the chair can be easily done within minutes, even if you are bad at building things. Corsair has made the installation process easier, and every step is well-defined and easy to follow. I did not record the exact time it took to build the chair, but I think it was 10 minutes. In any case, we will leave a video where you will be able to see and understand every step. The video is not really necessary because installing the chair is really easy, but if you have any doubt, it will help you.

We will now go over the key features of the Corsair T2 Road Warrior. As we anticipated, this is a high-end gaming chair, and it can be noticed given the design, which is clearly inspired by sports cars as you can see in the images.

This Corsair model has a steel frame that makes the chair sturdy. This a huge improvement over the Corsair T1 Race’s frame, which had a hybrid finish by mixing metal and plastic. Both the back and seat’s cushioning is made of Polyurethane foam with a 50kg/m³ density. This is great because density has an impact on the chair’s comfort level and durability against wear and tear (the higher the density, the higher the durability).

The material covering the seat and back is PU leather. This material stands out because it provides high durability, resisting wear, tension, pressure and high temperatures. It is eco-friendly and capable of keeping its shape even under adverse conditions. The material is perforated, which makes it breathable for more comfort during summer.

The armrests are made of plastic, but they have a soft finish on top (where we rest the arms) that makes them really comfortable even after long gaming sessions. We can easily adjust them in height, position and rotation, and they remain solid regardless of how they were positioned.

The greater possibilities in terms of adjustments also work for the chair. The Corsair T2 Road Warrior can be adjusted in height and tilt angle (up to 170° for the back and up to 17° for the seat). Overall, the chair is prepared to optimally support weights of up to 136 kg. It also comes with Rollerblade wheels that have a soft finish, ideal for delicate surfaces (wood floors, for example).

The chair also comes with black lumbar and neck pillows. Both pillows can be removed and put on in a matter of seconds. They are covered by velvet, and they are an excellent addition that allows us to customize and play with the chair a bit more.

The Corsair T2 Road Warrior is available in blue, black, yellow, white and red. As you can see, we have tested the blue model.

Our experience

At first sight, the Corsair T2 Road Warrior gives off a nice sensation that can be confirmed by touching it. The finish is typical of high-end gaming chairs. What we certainly liked the most was the chair’s sturdiness and comfort.

It does not matter how you position yourself or how much you move, the chair does not make any sound. The system that allows us to adjust the height and tilt angle works perfectly. The wheels are great because they let us move the chair smoothly and silently. However, the wheels have a downside: the chair often moves if you move. It would have been nice to have an optional locking system to avoid that problem.

Back to the chair’s sturdiness and comfort, we can even easily sleep on the chair (the neck pillow also help) if we tilt the back to the maximum (170°). Yes, the chair holds and goes back to its original position seamlessly.

The armrests are also sturdy, easily supporting weight and pressure. I am used to grabbing the armrests every time I sit and stand up. Despite “suffering” for the past few months, they still look like new.

This chair has been used by an 80 kg person for around 8-12 hours every day for the past 5 months. As you can see in the pictures at the end of the paragraph, it still looks impeccable. The chair does not make any sound or show any signs of wear and tear. The seat remains firm and every mechanism works perfectly.

In general, the Corsair T2 Road Warrior is an outstanding product in terms of build quality and finish. It is also easy to install and offers remarkable comfort. As you know, everything has a price.

June 28 update

Corsair has confirmed that the chair’s price point is €339.90 (VAT included). Supply is still limited, prompting some retailers to increase the price because the chair has been imported. This certainly makes a big difference that is reflected in our final score.

Choosing a chair can end up being a really important investment for those who spend a lot of time sitting down because of work or leisure. Personally, I remember a €150 chair I bought a few years ago. After 6 months, the chair’s seat started to show deformation (with the ensuing loss of comfort) and the armrests became wobbly. I had it for a year, but in the end I decided to change it. I felt like I wasted money.

With this I want to say that you get what you pay for. Even if it seems expensive at first sight, we need to bear in mind what I said in the previous paragraph: the chair is an investment that will pay off given the comfort and sturdiness that we will enjoy every time, every day.
